Our school gardens in Sierra Leone have been very successful, combining horticultural training with welcome food. Good ideas are not restricted by borders and we introduced the programme to our school in Debundscha, Cameroon where it has been welcomed by students and teachers.

A Landmark for SHF
On 9th August 2023 we transferred €7000 to Malawi to fund scholarships and the construction of a much-needed staff toilet in Geisha school.
This brought the total amount spent in Africa since the foundation of SHF in November 2026 to €755000 - over three quarters of a million euro.
These children in Geisha school will be even happier

More Clean Water in Sierra Leone
We have funded new wells in the very poor communities of Rothasaighn and Mamasa.
Here are photos of the work in progress.
We would like to fund three more wells at €5000 each. Maybe your employer or a rich friend or relation could help?
Construction material is transported to the site.

More Fundraising in Cork
SHF founder Bernice O’Brien and her sister Jackie Manley continue to raise finds for our work in Africa. They have organised a number of car boot sales for this purpose.
New Boat for Katick
Some of the children attending our DSHF school in Katick, Sierra Leone have to make a hazardous journey across a raging river to reach school in the six-month rainy season.
We have supplied a new fibre glass to help them. They are delighted.
